Somatic healing is a holistic approach to healing that focuses on the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. It recognizes that emotional stress and trauma can be stored in the body, leading to physical pain, tension, and illness. By addressing the root cause of these issues, somatic healing helps individuals to release the stored emotions and tension, promoting physical and emotional healing.
The importance of somatic healing in yoga cannot be overstated. As a yoga teacher, it's important to understand how emotions and trauma can manifest in the body and how to create a brave space for students to release and heal. By incorporating somatic healing into your yoga classes, you can help your students to connect with their bodies, release tension, and experience a deeper level of healing and transformation.
During the 14-hour section on somatic healing, students will learn a variety of techniques to help their students release emotional stress and tension stored in the body. Each session will begin with a 2-hour somatic yoga practice designed to help students connect with their bodies and release tension. The yoga practice will be followed by a lecture that covers different aspects of somatic healing, including the role of the nervous system, the connection between emotions and physical pain, and how to facilitate healing in a yoga class.
Students will also learn specific techniques for somatic healing, including breathwork, meditation, and bodywork. They will have the opportunity to practice these techniques in small groups and receive feedback from each other.
At the end of the 14-hour section, students will have a deeper understanding of somatic healing and how to incorporate it into their yoga classes. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to create a brave and supportive environment for their students to release emotional stress and tension stored in the body. This will help them to become more effective and compassionate yoga teachers, and help their students to experience a deeper level of healing and transformation.
